What if fairies really existed? I think I would cry. I have been obsessed with fairies and the magical world ever since I can remember. My best friend in elementary school received a dragon-scouting book for her birthday, and I a fairy-scouting book for mine. In the following three or four years, the two of use spent as much time as possible in the woods (a patch of trees at a park behind he house) searching for clues and making up storylines for our magical world. When did you last have an argument with your best friend? I think the last time we had an actual argument was when she pointed out how different I was acting a month or so ago (it’s in a previous journal entry). Basically, something was affecting me and I didn’t know what it was, and she called me out on my behavior. I, of course, denied any help and become upset whenever she tried to help me. Eventually, I woke up one day and got over it as always, so we’re all good now. But if I were to be specific, our last argument was technically this morning when we couldn’t decide what music to listen to!

Spend the day tracking down ideas! Since today was a school day with a four hour rehearsal afterword, I didn’t have much free time for idea-tracking. However, I did have the inspiration to organize my closet and develop a new method to keep tabs on my costumes for the show! I learned this new way of folding clothes where you roll them instead of actually folding them, and it’s amazing how much space it saves. Terribly sorry I didn’t have time for any revelations today, but after this week is over (finals week!), I’ll be able to spend more time on my daily writing tasks.

What are the words or expressions that you hear most often in a day? Within my friend group and around other thespians, our ‘common’ words and expressions change every couple of weeks. We usually have some kind of running joke or current event reference that we speak to often. For example, like many others in the world, we say “YAAAAAS” to a lot of things, and “tru, tru, tru!” [pronounce ‘true’] to random things people will say. From the outside in, our expression rarely make any sense, but to a regular thespian at my school, it’s all colloquial.

In your opinion, what does Le Clezio mean with the quote: “Writing is the only perfect form of time.” I think Le Clezio means that through writing, time is preserved, especially in regards to the way people thought and felt about the time in which they lived. Take Diaries and Journals for instance; they are the perfect time capsule, a bound-in-leather account of days and years lived in time. Even things like telegrams or simple letters can tell an accurate story. During war, messages would be short and to the point, showing that the time they had was not to be wasted. Heyyyyy look at me!

    Well look at who's actually keeping up with her daily writings! ME! I am probably a bit more proud that I should be, but considering how miserably I have failed at this in the past I'm feeling pretty darn good so far! Some days are definitel harder than others to fore myself to sit and write after a long hard day of school and such, but I'm sicking to it :)    A few things have happened since the new semester started. First off, I have had even MORE weather days, so the school board may add another day onto the year in addition to the two they have added already. *sighs* At least I won't have to stay for extra days during warm months.

New Semester!

Only have time for a speedy quick entry before I head of the Chamber Choir rehearsal, but YAY IT'S THE NEW SEMESTER!!! That means new classes, new people, and we're halfway done with the year! The most exciting things going on right now are my school's spring show (starting next Tuesday!) and the fact that I am finished with my CIS Composition course. I am so glad I took it and worked through the difficulties of writing so many huge papers in such a short amount of time, but MAN am I ever glad that it's over! I turned in a 4" binder of well over 1000 pages of work for my final portfolio. The loud thud of it falling onto my professor's desk is

Well hello there. Right off the bat, I will not make promises about how active I will be! I am giving the Aspiring Writer's Journal another shot this year, so some entries every week should be expected (and totally jump on me if I falter; I REALLY want to follow through with it this year!) As for why I've been gone, I won't bore you with details unless you're interested. Basically, I got busy with school, work, theatre, choir, etc. etc. I loved every minute of it, but now I want to get back to writing! I hope all of you had a great holiday season to help us through these next few months of bitter cold -- at least if you live in a place lik
